Donate an In-Kind Gift to Ernestine's
Every year at Ernestine’s, there are more than 1,000 visits to the shelter’s food bank from families that have moved out of the shelter and are still in need of essential services from Ernestine’s. We are always in need of non-perishable food donations because as our food bank is accessed by our clients on a daily basis.
Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, Ernestine’s has no volunteers and only limited staff to support us during this time. We are, therefore, shifting our asks from physical gifts to monetary and gift card donations that will allow our clients to purchase their gifts according to their individual needs and tastes. In lieu of other physical gifts, household items, clothing, and hygiene supplies, we kindly ask you consider monetary and/or VISA and Mastercard gift card donations to best meet the needs of the clients we serve.
Please contact us if you are able and willing to donate much-needed non-perishable food items to Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter. To make a food-bank donation to Ernestine’s, please email the full details of your donation to Khadija Kathy Ali at khadija@ernestines.ca, to arrange a drop-off. Thank you!
Donation drop-off days: Unfortunately, Ernestine’s does not have the ability to pick up donations. Please contact Khadija Kathy Ali (khadija@ernestines.ca) to schedule a drop-off.

Important Notes about In-Kind Gifts
Please note that Ernestine’s only accepts donations of new/unused clothing and undergarments, boots, shoes and toys. We do not accept donations of used clothing, shoes, or stuffed toys.
Unfortunately, due to a limited amount of storage available at the shelter, we are unable to accept donations of furniture. If you would like to donate furniture please feel free to contact the Furniture Bank
Please note that Ernestin’s does not provide tax receipts for gift-in-kind donations.
