The Ontario Trillium Foundation Supports Ernestine's "Bathroom Renovation Project"
The last year has not only been tough on the women and children staying at Ernestine’s but also the shelter’s facilities. As a 32-bed shelter that operates at full capacity, Ernestine’s has a number of shared bathrooms, which are used by the women and children who reside with us.
Due to a substantial increase in the use of these shared bathrooms over the past year, Ernestine’s is facing an immediate need to renovate our facilities. This is of particular importance since the women and children often reside with us for prolonged periods of time, with their average length of stay ranging from 6 months to a year.
Ernestine’s “Bathroom Renovation Project” addresses the acute need to renovate the client bathrooms.
Thank you to the wonderful Ontario Trillium Foundation for providing us with an $83,100 Resilient Communities Fund grant in support of this project! We are so grateful for OTF’s assistance, allowing us to renovate our shelter facilities and helping us continue to meet the health and safety needs of our shelter clients so they can continue to safely use the shelter facilities!
